I found them to be a good representation of the look and feel, but not particularly useful other than to validate that I was ready and help me mentally prepare. Practice exams are not available for all programs. I would guess that people who are putting together training material have generally been through the practice exams and have incorporated specific information into the training that would answer the practice questions. Some people find the practice exams to be easier than the real test, some find them to be harder. If you're not confident going in to the test, take the practice exam far enough in advance of your scheduled test that you can reschedule it if you come out of it and find you need to study certain areas more. I've generally taken them the morning of the exam to get my head in the right space. The look and feel is exactly like the normal exam. The questions are the same every time for every person who takes the test (so it's not worth taking it more than once). They're a set number of questions (I think 20) and the exam runs for a set amount of time (around an hour). You can take them any time that's convenient for you.
